“Jamie Scorgie and Joe Truckle have organised “Forget Me Not – A Charity Concert for Dementia”, which will take place at the Frome Memorial Theatre in Frome on Saturday 30th August. 

Joe will be remembered by a lot of local people as Charlie in Spellbound’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory show last year. 

If successful, Jamie and Joe are open to making Forget Me Not an annual or recurring event. 

“The show will involve many local talented singers and performers and will raise money and awareness of the amazing charity, Dementia UK,” said Joe. 

The effects of dementia hit both families hard. Joe explained, “I was quite young when my granddad was diagnosed, and COVID meant we couldn’t see him much near the end. But he was an amazing person and was a local performer too. 

“If it goes well, we’d love to do it again – maybe even something bigger next time,” added Joe.

“It’s a charity close to our hearts as both our grandfathers died from dementia and the concert is a way to remember them.” 

“We chose Dementia UK because they do fantastic work supporting families like ours, and we want to help others going through the same thing. 

The concert is at the Frome Memorial Theatre on Saturday 30th August at 7.30pm. Tickets are £9.50 and are available from the Memorial Theatre website or call the box office on 01373 462795 (open Monday/Wednesday/ Friday/Saturday 10am-1pm).
